A "novel" with a way to learn management skills: Ask Dr. Mac

When I became a principal of an elementary school, I had minimal preparation for the position. If only I could have shared the "park bench" with Justin, the main character, then we both could have learned skills from Dr. Mac. I have given copies to a son, who is in a new management position in a bank, and to a daughter who finds managing the household a challenging position, as well. There are new ideas for everyone in this book.

Ask Dr. Mac teaches leadership skills providing variety techniques for diagnosing team troubles. Easy to read and even touch your heart.

Ask Dr. Mac is both entertaining and educational. It's something every manager could use, especially any manager going through growth pains.

Ask Dr. Mac is a creative approach that effectively teaches management and leadership skills. (i.e. everyday management issues, conflict resolution, relationship building, reflection using journal, and much more) New supervisors will gain a lot from this book. Experience supervisors can use it as a tool for improvement. Highly recommend as an addition to your leadership library.

I highly recommend this book. It's a narriative/story and is easy reading, and has some very important lessons for anyone who is a manager, leader, or team member. I had several "ah-hah!" moments reading it and it has changed my perspective in the workplace. I have a new philosophy on dealing with conflict in the office, taking risks, and being a leader. An excellent tool...well worth it.
