Over the centuries, the elegance of Asian art has been a source of fascination and inspiration for artists and art lovers worldwide. This beautifully illustrated book, returning after some time out of print explores the diversity of art and artefacts from around Asia, detailing the subjects, the materials used in their making, and the lives of the artists and artisans who created them.
I was not expecting much buying this book on a whim, but it is quite fascinating with stunning works of art. The book is laid out with a full color slide on the right page, and writing about the work on the left page. It shows examples of statues, painting, ceramics, casting, jewelry and more. This book is a introduction to the art of many Asian countries, beside India as is usual, but even as an avid collector I found the work interesting. Cannot really go wrong for the price, can be a great gift.
