Ashes and Sparks is a collection of personal poetry by Sonia Waddell.

Sonia Waddell is a physiotherapist and an animal activist. After retiring from hospital work, she became a school speaker on vegetarianism, and she also campaigns against the cruelty involved in vivisection, factory farming, live animal export, and hunting.She says, "I admit to some nervousness at allowing these few poems (I have discarded many) into the light of day. It is just possible, though, that one or two may strike a chord with a reader, and that is my justification for, in the slightly adapted words of Percy Bysshe Shelley, 'scattering, as from an unextinguished hearth, these Ashes and Sparks'".
