"Artifacts from Oblivion" is a collection of sculptures by artist Jud Turner, containing more than 100 sculptures from 25 years of his work. Turner is a renowned and award winning artist, whose work has been exhibited and collected internationally. He is represented by Woolff Gallery, London, UK, and has many permanent, public art installations in the US. Turner is known for his innovative use of materials in his sculpture, using primarily recycled and repurposed items to create vast assemblages. The book is divided into chapters by subject matter, and includes "Animalia" - work inspired by the animal kingdom, "Industria" - work inspired by industrial dreamscapes, "Mechanica" - work inspired by machine and engine parts, "Naturalis" - work inspired by the natural world, "Publica" - works that are permanently displayed in public, and "Mortalio" - works inspired by mortality and the tradition of "memento mori". There are also several essays about Turner's working process and studio life, as well as an interview with Eugene Magazine, excerpted from a feature published in 2018.
