A Girl with a Dream
Tempest dreams of becoming a starfighter pilot, blasting aliens, space pirates, and anyone else who gets in her way.
Misfortune
Unfortunately for Tempest, none of those exciting things exist on her backwater planet of Schnoz (Space Colony New Australia). She lives on a turnip farm with just her and her dad. Her mom was lost in space.
Courage
You have to be brave when you live on an alien planet where anything could kill you. The jungles surrounding their farm are filled with deadly creatures, especially the giant alien centipedes. Tempest will need to summon up a lot of courage and do it fast if she wants to get one of the prized few ensign positions on the Artemis.
A Loyal Friend
Fortunately for Tempest, she has help. Her adorable animatronic koala, Kuddles has been her best friend since she was three years old, joining her in every one of her life's fun adventures. This one, however, will be dangerous.
A Future Leader
At eleven years old, Tempest can only dream of becoming a leader by watching every space war movie and collecting action figures. On the Artemis, she'll train to become a starfighter, and maybe even a captain. First, she'll have to escape from Schnoz.
Comedy
On Schnoz, you have to have a sense of humor. Tempest's main subject in school involves building toilets and sewer systems for a planet that only has outhouses and leach fields.
Can She Do It?
Is it even possible for a farm girl from Schnoz to get into the Artemis Starfighter Academy?
