Art therapy and supervision

At present, supervisory support primarily utilises verbal - that is, digital - media, supplemented by visualisation processes and, in some cases, creative media. What can art and art therapy offer in supervisory support to complement the other methods used in supervision? What methodological approaches exist in art therapy that are beneficial to the supervisory process? The study was conducted empirically using qualitative interviews and analysed methodologically. There was unanimous and keen interest amongst the supervisors interviewed in expanding their repertoire of methods to include artistic or art-therapeutic processes. Whilst some have experience with creative media, there is little experience of the potential that the artistic process can offer in supervisory support.
