The more he tried to concentrate on his studies, the more distracted he became. He couldn't stop thinking of those money bags. Finally, he moved his chair back and walked down the hall, calling out to see if anyone else was in the building, and then entered the church office. The bags contained checks and a good bit of cash. He knew the secretary and two of the elders counted the money on Monday morning before making the deposit. He wasn't going to keep the money. He'd pay it back as soon as he got a second job. Counting out a hundred dollars, he folded the bills and shoved them into his pants pocket, walked out, and closed the door behind him. This became the pattern for the next two months, and each time vowing to pay back with the extra job he was not getting.
