Great book about Poetry with related Pictures

This book is very helpful to read with your child if they like poetry, but it is a even better book for those that do not. With every poem there are accompanying photos that help the child to understand what the core of the poem is, and help them to look for the deeper meanings of poetry.

don't forget about black and white

This is the kind of book you may find in your library's discard pile. Because the photographs are black and white, the book is older, and no one is checking it out anymore. But don't overlook the value of this type of book! You should exposure your child to all types of illustration styles as well as both fiction and nonfiction books. Around and Around -- Love is a nonfiction book which simply describes (and illustrates) the many facets of love. My two year old loves its gentle rhythmical text and my three year old loves to pore over the pictures. Black and white illustrations convey a subtlety that children don't often see, in this world of garishly colored advertising and violently bright fast-moving television animation. Your children will immediately sense the tenderness and depth of emotion conveyed in these pictures. This is a book to return to again and again, especially useful during traumatic times like the birth of a new baby or a move.
