A great read.

I have been reading Leigh Greenwood's books for some time and find he is one of my favorite authors.

Good for Leigh Greenwood, missing a layer...

Trinity Smith has come to Arizona to fulfill his duties as a deputy, and that includes bringing Victoria Davidge to serve her sentence. She is accused of killing her husband. Victoria lives on her uncle's ranch protected by her uncle and his foreman, Buc. They had broken into the jail in Texas and brought her to live at the ranch to keep her from a certain death sentence. Victoria is chaffing under the strict rules both Buc and her uncle impose on her when Trinity wanders in she takes advantage of his easy going nature to travel across the ranch to conduct surveys to find the best places to build winter cabins to oversee the livestock on the ranch. Trinity uses these moments to build her trust and convince Victoria that she might have some fleeting feelings for him. When Trinity is fired only weeks later, Victoria joins him, only to learn that he is a bounty hunter: her bounty hunter. The dusty, forlorn trail between Arizona's Verde River and the jail is filled with a series of mishaps and comedic moments. Trinity deals with his demons and ghosts in ways that he never expected. Arizona Embrace is a nice change from the Cowboys series where it felt like every woman that Greenwood wrote about was petrified of the existence of a gun despite their necessity in the uncharted American Western Territories. While it was a nice book to read and gave me the sense of story that any story should, I don't necessarily find that Arizona Embrace is a "must have" story for the Greenwood library.
