Aristarchus, sive De contemptu linguae Teutonicae ist ein Werk des deutschen Dichters Martin Opitz, das erstmals 1617 ver ffentlicht wurde. Es ist ein bedeutendes Werk in der Geschichte der deutschen Literatur und Sprachwissenschaft. Opitz pl diert darin f r die Aufwertung der deutschen Sprache und Dichtung nach dem Vorbild der Antike.

In "Aristarchus" setzt sich Opitz kritisch mit der damaligen Praxis auseinander, Latein und anderen Fremdsprachen den Vorzug vor dem Deutschen zu geben. Er argumentiert, dass das Deutsche ebenso f hig sei, hohe literarische Werke hervorzubringen, wenn es entsprechend gepflegt und ausgebaut w rde. Opitz betont die Notwendigkeit, die deutsche Sprache zu reinigen, zu ordnen und durch die bernahme von Regeln und Formen aus der klassischen Dichtung zu veredeln.
