Argumentative analysis of military discourse on terrorism

This study, entitled "Approche argumentative du discours de l' tat-Major g n ral des arm es face aux attaques terroristes: cas du Burkina Faso en 2022", analyzes the argumentative strategies mobilized by the Burkinabe military institution to communicate about the security incidents that occurred during this period. The research focuses on official speeches produced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces in 2022, and reveals a diversity of discursive procedures used to construct a coherent and persuasive message. These strategies manifest themselves in enunciative processes, lexical choices, the use of verbal violence, the valorization of the audience, the use of figures of speech, the staging of pathos, the construction of a positive image of the institution, as well as the exploitation of speech acts, interdiscourse and the implicit. All these elements contribute to the construction of a strategic and effective discourse in the context of the fight against terrorism. The work is divided into three chapters: Theoretical and methodological framework, Study environment and Analysis of results.
