As a 60th birthday present for a good friend

I was looking for a funny, but not-so-typical birthday present for a friend who recently turned 60. This fit the bill perfectly - he had a great laugh and we passed the book around and read from it at the party. This was so much better than another "Old Fart" mug!

Funny with a bite

I picked up "Are You A Miserable Old Bastard?" in the store and flipped through, stopping to read random pieces. Soon my wife got tired of me following her around reading to her and told me to just buy it. On the whole the book is hilarious. The narrative is excellent and I recognized myself more than once. Sometimes the quotes are a bit tedious and bitter rather than funny, but it's easy enough to buzz through those and get back to the prose. I liked it so much that I sent copies to my brother and a friend. This is a book that you will read quickly and return to often in order to fill your quiver with sharp barbs of wit. Highly recommended.

Fantastic book...Amazing quotes from a variety sort of people. You laugh your head off. Superb.
