23 year old poet and malcontent Donnie Domingo had always felt estranged. In the year 2012 he is one of the last remaining members of a group known as the "Aesthetic," the noble vestiges of a fleeting and dissolute epoch. One morning at a donut shop Donnie hears news of the discovery of a planet that shares many of the same characteristics as Earth. Feeling that the romance on his planet has died he becomes preoccupied with the notion that there just may exist a level of class and originality there that hasn't been prevalent on Earth in years. 600 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus, planet Kepler 22-B consists entirely of women. In recent years a great carnage had taken place when members of the iniquitous neighboring planet Sadir slaughtered every male inhabiting Kepler's surface. Shay Kira Serro, one of several of the planet's ambassadors puts out a call to any male that may have escaped the genocide. When her call goes unanswered she embarks on an interstellar voyage with the intention of perpetuating an entire civilization. Meanwhile, Donnie Domingo disillusioned with city life sets out to the local desert to write and actualize the self unaware that he is the only hope for Kepler's survival.
