This work brings the analysis carried out in the ILPI located in Teresina-PI, illustrating the understanding that only the spatial adaptation is not a condition for the existence of a bond individual / environment and consequent appropriation of this, in the environment of an institutional collective housing in Brazil. It is up to the community, professionals and governments to work in network, seeking to improve the standards of this and many other institutions that are incurring in failures, or even ignore what is provided by legislation.
