Joe and Blossom had been dating over two years having met in the courthouse when they literally ran into each other. He was a policeman in a nearby town near Paradise where Blossom lived. He and Blossom dated and considered themselves boyfriend and girlfriend. So, it wasn't unusual for her to call him, except this time she thought someone was following her and she needed Joe to look into it.

Joe knocked on Blossom's door, but no one answered. When he went inside, he found her apartment was a mess and Blossom wasn't anywhere to be found.
