ultimate novel of love in Rome and love of Rome

You will experience Rome itself in this romance/tragedy/mystery. An American Medical school dropout visits 1950's Rome to find himself. You will get the feel of Rome as you devour chapter after chapter. Equally, you will experience our protagonist's passion for a beautiful Roman woman, the jealousies and rivalries, the marvelous characters and locales. If you have been there, you will know that this book takes you to Rome. One of the best novels I have ever read
