TALK ABOUT GOOD!
It's 1952 in south Louisiana.
You know. Mossy trees. Lazy days.
Simple and carefree.
Untroubled times when life was simple,
America was in charge,
and nothing serious ever happened.
But something serious was happening.
Somewhere, deep in the Atchafalaya Basin's vast tracts
of swampy real estate, a military transport has gone missing.
Also missing is its cargo, a breadbox-size container carrying
a highly radioactive isotope.
Into this idyllic setting add a young cub reporter, his pregnant
wife, beaucoup cliches and stereotypes, bad puns,
a nifty nymphomaniac, oodles of footnotes, a bit of time skating,
a nifty orange Studebaker, a bottle or two of purple sex elixer,
Beethoven's Ninth, and, naturellement, a few big-screen movie
monsters, and you have all the ingredients needed for a tasty jambalaya.
But first you make a roux!
And thereby hangs our tale,
A tale of whimsy and woe,
Full of carnage and calamity-
A crawfish zydeco!
