Not "Any Ole Bush"!

Way to go Dr. Harned! Good thoughts on discipleship and living a Spirit- filled life. You and Jan grew into very special "bushes". Your book helps guide and encourage readers to do the same. Interesting and challenging reading.

Bert Harned passes on the wisdom he has gained over the last 40+ years of helping others move from living mediocre, fruitless Christian lives to living powerful, spirit-led lives of joyful obedience. On the surface, this book is a description of the process by which Bert and his wife disciple people. The real meat of this book, however, is that as the author describes his experiences, you yourself will be taught how to lead a life full of power through the Holy Spirit. Bert offers something in this book that few others can - a life. He speaks from what he knows and has experienced, not just what he has read and heard. This comes out in his style of writing as this book feels like you are actually sitting across from him having a conversation. This style is particularly helpful because through it, Harned tells you not just WHAT to do, but HOW to do it. His anecdotes and illustrations add practical understanding regarding HOW to be filled with the Spirit, HOW to obey, HOW to love people more, etc. I especially recommend this book to two kinds of people: 1) Those who are leading others in either a formal or informal minstry setting. Bert Harned helps to focus ministers on the most important things. He also helps us identify and get rid of things that aren't as important (TV for example). 2) More importantly, anyone who feels like their Christian life is fairly fruitless and lackluster should get this book. The bush that spoke to Moses was just a plain ole lackluster everyday bush, what made it special was the God who filled it! Likewise, anyone can live a fruitful Christian life because of the God who fills us! This book is incredibly encouraging and helpful. If you are interested in being guided daily by the Holy Spirit, having Him change your attitudes, getting rid of sin, leading others into deeper relationship with Jesus, bearing fruit, then this is the book for you.

Terrific Book

This book is ideal for anyone who really is interested in deep and meaningful spiritual growth, and in helping others do the same. It also is an inspiring story of what is possible when people are willing to just say yes to God.

You're an eagle.... get out of the chicken yard

This is a fabulous book that explains the "how to" of Jesus's final command before leaving the earth.... "go and make disciples". It's fun to read as it includes many stories of the author's encounters and experiences with various people with the desire to know God and His power to work in their lives. It describes what works and what doesn't and a practical method of helping people discover how to "walk in the Spirit". I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in discipling others, or to anyone who is just tired of being an "eagle" living in "the chicken yard". I am a direct product of the author's work and technique, which further qualifies me to recommend this book!
