Book Overview

Sarah Harper is driven to achieve success no matter what the cost. She wants to do good and not hurt the people she loves -- especially children and her husband, Joe -- but her desire to succeed in her career too often leaves little time for family.

One cold, autumn afternoon, all of that changes when Sarah's car plunges off a bridge and into a river. She is presumed dead by those on the "outside," but Sarah's spirit is still very much alive...

Engaging, could put it down!

I couldn't stop reading, had to see how it ended. It really makes you truly think about what is really important in life. If we could all just do that before we get wrapped up in so many other things in life. A worthwhile read, highly recommend.

We all could learn something

This book is enjoyable for anyone who finds they never have enough time in their life. Particularly women who are trying to do it all and are losing more than they are gaining. Read it and see what I mean....you won't be sorry.

As reviewed on CBN.com

Any Minute is a new take on a near-death story. The main character, Sarah Harper, is on her way toward a complete family meltdown because of her obsession with her career. Just when you think the pace of her life can't get any more frantic, she accidentally drives her car off a bridge as she speeds toward an "urgent" business meeting. I don't want to give too much away, but suffice it to say that she comes away from that experience with a fresh perspective. I appreciated the fact that the changes in Sarah's life didn't materialize immediately following her accident--but transpire slowly, as the Lord begins to deal with her heart. Although Any Minute is a novel, it contains a powerful message, and I highly recommend it.

Any Minute

This book is a must read for all of us workaholics. I borrowed it from the local library and then purchased a copy to give to a friend. I pray that all who read this book, will take time to give God thanks and then spend time with their family and friends. Quality of a person's life is much more important than money. Faith in God to provide and remember God is in control, not man.

Makes you think about what's really important

I put this book on the top of my must read list especially after reading the "boring" review of it. I don't think Joyce Meyer has ever written anything boring so I had to prove that review wrong. I try to watch her show every morning on TV. She is anything but boring. I have never read anything else by Deborah Bedford but will look into her books after reading Any Minute. I really loved this book. Sara was always busy trying to get everything done and please everyone around her but the people who were the most important. Her job took her away from so much that she later regretted after an accident that showed her how her actions effected her life. This is a story that makes you think about your mortality. There isn't always time to do the most crucial things "later". It made me think about how I need to slow down and think about how I spend my time and show the people in my life that they are important to me. God doesn't care how impressive we are at our jobs or how much money we make. It's more about how we live our lives for him and the good of others. I'm so glad I read it and found out for myself.

Your life can change in an instant...

Sarah Harper has forsaken her family for the success she wants in her career. Her husband Joe, her son Mitchell, and her baby Kate are left without her more times than she cares to admit. She wants to be everything to everyone around her, but she's finding the pressure to please all is just too much. Her view of life changes one rainy morning as she hurries to meet her boss and some new clients for an all-important meeting. Instead of reaching her destination, she drives off a bridge. What Sarah experiences as rescuers try to find her body will change her life, and the lives of the people around her, forever. The people she encounters during this time will show her what will truly make her happy. She will learn that the love and approval she has always sought from others was with her all along from our Heavenly father. I absolutely loved this story. Joyce Meyer and Deborah Bedford have woven together a tale that speaks volumes in today's hectic-scheduled life. We all find ourselves at some point seeking the love and approval of people who make us feel less than we are. God is who we should seek. The conflicts between Sarah and Joe and the guilt she feels over her children happen in so many households today. Watching her spiritual growth was truly heartwarming. Ellen Archer was the best narrator I have ever heard. This is one inspirational story I know you will love just as I did.
