A Must Read!

After growing up in the U.S. traditional Christian world, and converting to Mormonism at the age of 35, the past eight years have been a struggle for me to move beyond the often judgmental and preconceived notions that I grew up with for so many years. After thousands of hours of study I find that I much prefer deciding for myself where my heart lies, and it is works such as this book that bring new insight, thinking, contemplation and eventual knowledge into my own understanding as to what I feel the scriptures really mean to me. This book will give new insights into interpretations of scriptures from whatever background you come from. By knowing what the critics are saying and their common attacks and also becoming more knowlegeable with traditional Christian thinking, a follower of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will gain knowledge of their fellow brethren that will possibly help them come closer in communication and understanding. Through reading this book traditional Christians may begin to see why the many tactics used toward their fellow Latter-Day Saint brethren don't really have much impact in conversion but will always really be directed toward their own congregations trying to get them not to look or think for themselves, and that by gaining a knowledge of why the effect is nill may bring knew insight into developing relationships with their fellow brethren that are meaningful and very productive. A pleasant surprise

I recently became acquainted with this book after borrowing it from a friend. I found it to be very comprehensive, addressing all but the most esoteric and sensationalist anti-Mormon questions. It's certainly appropriate for the sincere investigator. Level and quality of writing as well as thoroughness in reviewing available literature on the questions makes it ideal for a missionary with a bit more than the average interest in apologetics, or a member who wants a single reference book.

Faith inspiring answers

Although the author is my dad and perhaps this might seem to bias my judgement, I have used his book numerous times both in teaching lessons and for personal research. I do this not because my dad wrote the book but because the answers are solid and well-worded. Oftentimes his book is the best reference to questions which on the surface seem impossible to answer (supposed mysteries with which we must use faith). I have learned that an answer exists to every question and so has my father. He expresses that point well by answering those difficult questions which many of us have.

Excellent!

This is a great book to easily find answers to questions about the LDS faith. It is a good read, easy to understand and gives informative and thoughtful responses to Gospel related subjects. A very useful reference work.

Outstanding resource-Answers the critics and the Curious!

This wonderful book covers many quesitons asked by new LDS members, their families and critics of the Church. It points out the common fallacies and half-truths often used to try and confuse members. This book should be on the shelf of every LDS Church member, as well as those of people who are curious about the truth behind all those desperate accusations. Well-researched and written. Can't praise it highly enough
