I was born in Ohio and grew up in California. My mother was born in Minnesota and my father was born in Texas and grew up in Mexico City. My grandparents were born in Minnesota, Indiana, Maine and Virginia. Earlier generations were in New York when it was still New Amsterdam and in Virginia before coming back on the ship Mayflower to Massachusettts. We have fought in the Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War on both sides and World War II. These stories will be covered in my next book. Mine is truly an American family. Marian Wright DeMars
