1625 went down in history as the Annus Mirabilis (Miraculous Year) of the Spanish Monarchy, which, facing almost all the great European powers of the time, had defeated them in scenarios spread across Flanders, southern Europe, the Mediterranean, South America, the Caribbean, the Pacific, Africa and Asia. This work analyses all the triumphs of that unrepeatable year. Of those victories, the recovery of Salvador de Bahía in Brazil was the most notable, due to its strategic importance and the logistical efficiency that entailed the organisation of an armada of more than fifty ships in record time and the transfer of five infantry troops from Europe to South America.
