Classic themes, resonant dialogue, intriguing characters and a plot the I both resisted and willingly gave into - these are all qualities that make this a book I wanted to finish in one sitting. It's hard to believe this is a first novel. Eaton's ability to seduce me with her demon, Fasia, was key to my enjoyment and left me wanting more of her and the others in it. Real characters with real desires and problems. Some good surprises along the way, too. On top of it all, it was a fun walk down memory lane. I lived in Seattle during the 90s, and she deftly captured and created the atmosphere. Definitely a recommend.

Very good first outing for Julia. I could hardly put the book down! I enjoyed the Seattle references, but was more intrigued with her demons. Hopefully in her next book she spends more time exploring Fasia and Frederick.

Annabelle's Shoes was the perfect book for a weekend read. I did not want to put it down, and I often put books down without finishing. I was intrigued from the first page and the ending was well timed. So, if you are looking for a book to take on that long plane or train ride, take this!
Entertaining Fasia

Annabelle's Shoes is a great first book from Julia Eaton. It opens up many doors for prequels and sequels about Fasia's past and Fasia's victims. The pace in this book is fast, so it pulled me in and didn't leave me bored once! (I actually read it in one sitting.) I would really have liked to see Fasia developed a bit more, but as this book was about the band and Seattle in the early '90s, hopefully Fasia will get her own starring role in a later book!
