'Anna and the King of Siam' by Margaret Landon, illustrations by Margaret Ayer. Octavo, illustrated jacket, russet cloth boards with gilt spine imprinting, 366 pp. (vi + 360). Numerous black and white illustrations throughout, and the color jacket illustration, by Ayer. A better than VG book, showing only foxing specks on the bottom page edge and an early wner's bookplate (see scans) as imperfections keeping it from Near Fine, in a Good, but complete, jacket, with general edge tatter (scan). Landon's famous "semi-fictional biography" of Anna Leonowens and her experiences in the court of Siam in the 1860s. Under this title as well as 'The King and I', later made into four films (three of those musicals), a stage musical, and a TV series. Ships in a protective box, not a bag. L4
