Animals gave their lives for us.

I read this when I was learning to ride horses. Everyone knows dogs and horses are in wars. Until I read Animals in War I had no idea how many species were involved in warfare. If you are a animal welfare activist this book is very important in your arsenal of ideas why animals deserve our loyalty & love. For the military historian it also is really, really wonderful. If you are looking for a gift for a veteran who loves animals Animals in War is a good choice.
