Not sure why the School Library Journal's review was so negative. Apparently either Margaret Bush doesn't have preschoolers or she lives in Florida, because my snow and animal loving child requests this book over and over. She loves the repetition of the text and is particularly fascinated by the snow tracks of the animals and people. She also is very interested in the snow when it melts, puddles appear, and a flower grows, signaling the arrival of spring. This book is a good read aloud for the preschool age child.
