Choo-choo! All aboard the animal train!Mrs. Crane is the engineer, and Master Lion brings up the rear. Porter Seal carries the bags as Conductor Cricket takes the tickets. Lift the flaps to learn about opposites, colors, counting, and more on the animals' railroad tour!
We got this for our son from the library when he was just over a year, and he loved it. It was one of the few flap books in the library that still had its flaps intact (which was surprising because the book was clearly read frequently based on the tattered edges). We bought the book for our son. For a while, he only liked the story - it's a nice poem. As he got older, he began to appreciate the flaps. My son is now 7, and it's one of the few books from his infancy that he won't let me get rid of. I would whole-heartedly recommend this book.
Colorful and fun!

Any book by Jane Yolen is sure to be good and this one is no different. My kids love the clever rhymes and lifting all the fun flaps. The pictures are bright and interesting and there is a wealth of details to be discovered on subsequent readings. The only suggestion I have (as in all flap books) is covering the flaps with clear contact which makes them a bit more durable! Lots of fun!
