The work is based on a MA thesis. It consists of a study of all known Anglo-Saxon garnet inlaid disc and composite brooches found in this country. The original corpus was completed in 1971 but since then further brooches have come to the writer's attention. Each corpus entry consists of a full description, references, photo or drawing, and a series of figures.
