This work undertakes a first empirical and comparative investigation of Anglicisms in 12 Spanish-speaking Latin American countries. Unity and diversity are key themes in the study, which analyzes the use of English in daily newspapers, placing special emphasis on the graphic and morphological integration of borrowed terms. The study's findings relativize existing notions of the influence exerted by English in the region, both in terms of its extent and its geographical distribution.
