Anglicisms in Specialized French

This book examines and analyzes Anglicisms in French vocabulary related to the field of cinema. Within a historical context, the mutual influences between the French and English languages are explored to explain the presence of Anglicisms in the French language. Furthermore, this work examines the status of English loanwords in the contemporary world. The main body of the work consists of researching expressions of English origin in various sources and subsequently analyzing these expressions in terms of their pronunciations and meanings. This thesis serves as a survey of the French lexicon by examining English loanwords and their levels of assimilation. Furthermore, it examines the position of the English language as a lingua franca in the world and presents French as a language rich in expressions of foreign origin.
