"Angels in the Snow" is a very appropriate novel of this time when so many families are separated by divorse and children left with so many unanswered questions in the struggle to remain devoted to both parents without causing more friction. The scenario is very well portrayed and the feelings become almost enenfleshed in the writing. The Novel could be called a "psychological novel" and could help many teenagers and parents in their quest for greater communication.
Very intresting YA story set in two cultures.

This is a novel about fourteen year old Nicole, growing up in a small town in Nova Scotia. Her mother left the family when Nicole was much younger and now Nicole has the opportunity of seeing her mother again in Japan where she is teaching English. The author tells a lively story, but also beautifully describes locales in both Nicole's home town and during her visit to Japan. The reader is kept wondering how the story will unwind but somehow knows that the ending will be OK for all the characters and in this regard is not disappointed. This is a well written, informative and wholesome read which I would highly recommend for young adult readers.
Complex book told simply

Fifteen year old Nicole gets to meet the mother who left her and her father when she was very young, by travelling to Japan from small-town Nova Scotia. The contrasts of cultures and locations adds interest to an already interesting book about growing up and getting to know our parents as people. I really enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to anybody looking for a good YA novel.
