Angels in the Night

A refreshing, riveting, account of a family who are truly living out the teachings of Jesus. "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray from them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matthew 5:44. Pablo and Euni are missionaries in Nicaragua, and had to endure multiple robberies. During all this hardship, they consistently show the love of God to those who would do them harm. This account does not portray them as heroes, they honestly tell of the emotional trauma they had to endure, and how God was faithful. I was unable to put this book down, a real page turner. This book is a sequel to "Angels over Waslala", also a good read.

Very Inspiring!

Pablo Yoder is a very good writer. He is actually still over in Waslala. This book is about him and his family as they are bringing the gospel to the people of Waslala. They were robbed many times. Here is an excerpt from the chapter "Where are you God?". ---------------------------------------- "Suddenly Eagle lost his temper. "We'll see if these gringos won't give their money!" he growled. "We'll tie them up right. Get down! Face down!" It's hard to get face down with your hands tied behind your back. We just thumped down on our chests and flattened out on our stomachs, then they tied us up right. Our legs were tied together, then a rope was tightened from the arms to the legs putting us in a cocked, awkward position. While Hawk tied us, Eagle hollered at him to hurry. When they were done, they went upstairs and I heard them tying up Jacinto. "Get down, young man!" "Aw, I won't cause any trouble. Can't I just sit here?" he dared to ask. Eagle cocked his pistol and raised it at Jacinto, who went down fast. "Bring a bomb, Hawk. Tie it to his legs. Now, boy, don't you dare move or you'll blow up!" While I was lying there, I heard other noises. The men were moving from room to room. I just had to be up there! In desperation, I tore at my shackles, but it was useless. I fought the battle of my life, but I was totally helpless, and finally gave up. As the minutes ticked away, I thought of the twins and what might be happening to them. One by one, I began giving my children back to God. But one of the main battles I fought on that hard cement floor was my fight with faith. Though I still couldn't feel God's presence, I did find peace. By the time the robber herded the family downstairs, I was composed. The robber switched on the light. He was wearing an ugly hood now. "Come over here," he barked. Quietly the family entered. There were no tears or screams--only a quiet calm. Euni came first, carrying Kenny. The rest of the family sat beside her on the couch. Louie and I lay at their feet. Jacinto remained alone in the upstairs guestroom, shackled face down. Now Eagle sat down in an armchair. He threw his leg over the arm and, twirling his pistol, started all over again. "Now listen, all of you. We are here tonight for $4,000, and we must have it." Turning to the family, he continued, "Your daddy doesn't cooperate, but we are going to give him thirty-five minutes to agree. The time starts now. You talk in your own language and decide what you can come up with. We have little time left, so hurry." ------------------------------------------------ As you can see, it is very interesting. You can't put this book down once you start it. For younger children, this book might be a little too scary. God bless you as you read this book.
