It is well known that homo sapiens shared the Earth for thousands of years with Neanderthals and other humanoid species which eventually disappeared for reasons that are not entirely understood. But what if one of those other species had somehow managed to survive in the frigid fringes of the inhabitable world and were still with us today? Angel tells the story of Angel Gabriel, a homo cognitus (more commonly known as "Beasts"), who is adopted by sapiens parents at birth on Unimak Island, Alaska. Through their love and nurturing, and aided by his adoptive grandfather's powerful political connections, Angel humbly enters the hostile sapiens world and eventually thrives against all odds. He not only changes minds and history but also helps forge better conditions for his species, thus ensuring their longtime survival and prosperity. Along the way, Angel interacts with renowned religious, political and media figures, eventually becoming a celebrity and leader in his own right.
