Ladd Good is sent from New York City by the China Business Consortium to woo their competitor, Anglica Maldonado. Her business practices in China are causing discontent among the Chinese employees of the Business Consortium and could seriously diminish their bottom line. Ladd goes by his middle name Ash while changing his last name to Goodfellow in case his reputation has preceded him. Angelica pierces through his disguise and lets Ash know that she thinks very poorly of the China Business Consortium and3 wants nothing further to do with him. Ash returns to New York and learns that the Consortium's plan B is to hurt Angelica herself or her business in China. Impressed by Angelica's basic goodness, Ash returns to Salt Lake to warn her of pending danger. She brushes him off. Ash follows her to China to fend off any disaster awaiting Angelica. He ends up getting them both in a life-threatening situation.
