Chilling... and thought-provoking

It isn't often an author can deliver a stellar plot, well-rounded characters, and ideas that bounce around in the reader's mind long after the book has been closed. But that is just what Jill Morrow has done with Angel Cafe.I read this book from cover to cover in one day. Morrow twists the plot so deftly that I had no idea what would happen next, though the plot unfolded seamlessly and logically. And there is even a little romance to this story to add to its appeal.Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, you will enjoy this book. Heart-racing suspense, well-crafted characters, and the eternal struggle between good and evil, all propel this plot forward, and the ending leaves the reader aching for a sequel. (I hope it's published soon--the end notes said Morrow had already finished writing it!) I guarantee you this book will keep you thinking. And perhaps, as you close the book, you will be listening for voices... from "the other side."

Gripping tale

"Angel Cafe" is a gripping tale in the classic "Good versus Evil" mode, layered with personal stories of the main characters. Kat Piretti is a likeable heroine, toughened by grief for her fiance and driven by a need to find out the truth about his death. The other characters are equally engaging and well crafted with vivid description. The demon Valentine makes for a chilling foe.I guarantee you will speed through the ending; there comes a point when you just cannot close the book until you know what happens. My only complaint is having to wait for the sequel! Bravo.

awesome book

This book was amazing. I couldnt put it down. Im upset that I have to wait until july to read the sequel. This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. Jill Morrow should write more books!

LOVED THIS BOOK. It was exciting and intriguing all the way!

You got to see the point of view of almost all the characters in this novel. I love paranormal so I found this book fun and kinda believing too, about angels and all that sort of stuff.Too bad the sequel will be out next July 2004...DARN. Can't wait to read it! Tried to find more books by this author but it seems that this book is her first published one.

Great paranormal omance

Two years ago, associate lawyer Katerina Piretti's beloved fiancé, Baltimore Sun investigative reporter Peter Dulaney, committed suicide. Kat has had problems accepting the official verdict, especially since she suffers from dreams in which Peter asks for her help.On Secretary's Day, Kat takes the office assistant to the renowned ANGEL CAFÉ where owner Stephen Carmichael performs a reading that she can see is bogus until he says that Peter did not kill himself. Stephen hires Tia Melody whose readings seem so accurate she begins to have a fan following to see if she can `see' more for Kat. As Peter and Kat fall in love, they struggle with happenings that seem more appropriate for the Twilight Zone rather than the lives of a lawyer and a restaurateur. This paranormal romance will make true believers out of the most cynical of doubters that there is another "realm" out there. The story line moves a bit slow at first as Jill Morrow insures the audience fully understands the motives and concerns of the lead protagonists and some support players, and Tia's "gift". This is a special treat, so much so, sub-genre fans will visit ANGEL CAFÉ for more than one reading.Harriet Klausner
