Patient may needs anesthesia in elective surgery and emergency surgery. In elective surgery there is time for proper preparation of the patient as full history, full investigations, and may be an preparatory operation for major operation such carotid end arterectomy before coronary bypass grafting. Anesthetist may be faced by an urgent operation which increased risk for morbidity and mortality. Such operations as obstetric bleeding, postoperative bleeding, another emergency situation as perioperative myocardial infarction, anesthesia during septicemia or septic shock .intraoperative emergency as anaphylaxis or local anesthetic toxicity .in this book I discussed these emergency situations and how to prepare the patient and so decrease the intraoperative and postoperative mortality.
