They return together to Davidson's Palm Springs desert mansion and everything is perfect until an ex-boyfriend reappears and bliss turns sour and worse.The second novella, Runes, is set in 9th Century Denmark and concerns three teenage bunk-brothers (same-sex lovers), Egil Skald, Honj Gokstad and Jarls Thorsson, and their preparation for initiation as Viking warriors at their town of Firrid. But the trio commit an act at the annual Rites of Spring which seals their fates.
