The battle for the planet Callidus is over, and the battered human survivors finally head back to an unaware Earth for a long overdue rest. Zed Yates, former Captain of the starship Rose of the Dawn is now simply the Skipper of a small scout saucer heading to Earth to find his new wife, after which he plans to settle down and raise a family.The universe, however, isn't through with Zed as he finds himself in more hot water than he can possibly deal with.
