“Now we don't even know where to find the marmalade.”

Eight people are invited to the remote Soldier Island stronghold by their host, U.N. Owen, and his wife; two people are already there as the butler and cook. Once there, they find that their mysterious host has accused each of murder and commences to dispatch the guests in the order of a song called “Ten Little Soldier Boys.” Finding that they are cut off from the outside world, they must find Mr. Owen and neutralize him before they are all dispatched.
In this version, “And Then There Were None - TV Miniseries” (2015) with Maeve Dermody, Charles Dance, Toby Stephens, we get more visuals because there is more time in this almost 3-hour series. We get more flashbacks and more flashbacks to tell the story than dialogue. Then we also get a tad of Potty mouth and graphic violence than other productions. There is an annoying background humming sound, but no cutesy musical scores.
Much worse and more horrifying than any murder was the scene during a search, where they tossed expensive books around like toys, ripping them from their shelves and tossing them open on the floor. It will make you cringe.
Some earlier movies made:
“And Then There Were None” with Barry FitzGerald, Walter Huston, and Louis Hayward
With the original book title “Ten Little N-i-g-g-e-r-s” with Douglas Hurn, Elizabeth Maude, and Arthur Wontner
“Ten Little Indians - Live television presentation” with Nina Foch, Barry Jones, and Romney Brent
“Ten Little Indians” with Hugh O'Brian, Shirley Eaton, and Fabian
“Ten Little Indians” with Oliver Reed, Elke Sommer, and Richard Attenborough
“Ten Little Indians” with Vladimir Zeldin, Tatyana Drubich, and Aleksandr Kaydanovskiy
This series has an ending that is more consistent with the Christie book than many of the other adaptations. Sarah Phelps, who wrote the screenplay, brought it a tad up-to-date with dialogue and attitudes. In places, it tries a tad too hard to be unique. It all works out in the end.
