I was sent this book by a cousin in Honduras. His grandfather was a friend of Manuel Bonilla, the former President of Honduras. It has graphic descriptions, but is true to the character of Utila people. I also have family on Utila - this is a fascinating book.
Great book

This is a very telling tale of a seagoing murder spree. I have connections to both Honduras and the Bay Islands, so many of the family names are known to me. To think this is a real tale takingplace in a truly peaceful location is astounding. Well worth your time to read.
He makes history come alive

Mr. Jackson does an excellent job of developing the characters in the book - making you feel you are living at the turn of the 20th century and eyewitnessing the events that actually happened. I heard the story of the Olympia years ago, but Jackson portrays it in such vivid detail that you think you personally know the families on Utila - their history, economic and racial divisions, and their everyday going about with their personal lives and work. As other reviewers have stated, it is hard to put this book down. I wanted to finish reading it in one sitting.

I am originally from Utila, Honduras. My Grandfather, Dempsey Thompson was one of the great storytellers. I heard this story many times as a child and it terrified me. Bill really brought the story to life and in so doing this he really captured the true essense of the island. Well done Bill, I truly enjoyed this book and I am telling everyone about it. Coulden't put it down.

I enjoyed this book so much. It's filled with such excitement. A murder mystery, a thriller, A TRUE STORY, also a book filled with such faith. I very seldom will read a book in one night, as I get busy with my family. This is a book I read in one night. I couldn't put it down. It's a book I hope to someday see as made for the BIG screen, or a TV movie. I now you will enjoy it very much. True stories seldom exist like this one.
