Ancient Rome's Aventine Triad Including Roman Deities Ceres, Liber, Libera, and Ludi Celebrations

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online.

The Aventine Triad also referred to as the plebeian Triad or the agricultural Triad, is a modern term for the joint cult of the Roman deities Ceres, Liber, and Libera. The cult was established in 493 BC within a sacred district (templum) on or near the Aventine Hill, traditionally associated with the Roman plebs. The book studies the gods of the Aventine Triad, its origin and foundation, associated ludi games, and theatrical performances which served as a focus of plebeian identity.

Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
