Ancient Indian Rituals and their Social Contents (1975) attempts to find out the social basis of the cults and rituals of India. An understanding of the vast and complicated Indian social history is necessary for a proper understanding of its rituals. The author throws significant light on the social complexes, which were directly interwoven with the productive activities of men belonging to different cultural grades, strictly on the basis of a critical and comparative analysis of a number of selected rituals.
