Learning history through novels is so enjoyable and informative
Published by Inger Barron , 2 months ago
I really enjoy learning history through historical novels. This one takes place in the Black Forest of Germany from 1805 to 1873. It's a lovely story laced with informative history lessons. I was especially interested to learn that the Small Pox vaccine goes that far back (it was invented in 1796!) But the writing was wonderful . . . so descriptive. I could see the ice crystals in the air when they were in the forest looking for a Christmas tree, and smell the ground when she walked up in the hills.
