Analysis of Thermal (Un)comfort and its Pedagogical Implication

This book deals with thermal (un)comfort as a result of a research developed at Chongoene Secondary School in Gaza, Mozambique. Thermal comfort represents the feeling of well-being or satisfaction of the human body, thermally, in the environment in which it finds itself. There is a relationship between thermal (un)comfort and performance in performing various activities. In this context, using local measurements of meteorological parameters, standard models and internationally accepted tests (such as the ICT, RTD, ISO 7730 - PMV indices), besides discussing the thermal conditions offered by the school classrooms in reference to the students, we also try to establish their implication on the pedagogical performance. This is a strict contribution in the search for factors that may have influenced the high failure rates once reported by the education sector, especially in the area of natural sciences, such as Physics and Mathematics. Furthermore, the book is useful for researchers, teachers and students for the improvement of scientific knowledge and development of future scientific work, as well as for decision makers.
