When I was a college freshman I had few bearings to guide my decisions. I was like a motor-less boat floating down the stream of the world's current, carried to an unknown destination. Yet by God's grace I was called out of the world. I was made alive in Christ. My spiritual eyes were opened to see that I was not floating on a stream, but on a raging river that was hurtling me to destruction. Not only that, but the drifting boat of my life was given a motor - the Holy Spirit, who gave me not only new desires, but new abilities. The wrong things I used to enjoy but was powerless to change, I now abhorred and was enabled to leave them behind. My life had been reversed. I was now heading directly upstream against the powerful influences of the world. My life had been completely turned upside-down. I had entered the Upside-down Kingdom.
