On their arrival in the land of unlimited possibilities, an odyssey begins through a sea of unimagined and never-ending difficulties. The relationship with a depressive man addicted to prescription drugs mutates into a nightmare. The basic idea of the text, to show the subject of immigration and foreignness from an unusual perspective, expands this genre, which is now widespread in novel literature, in an unexpected way with an aspect that has hardly ever been addressed in this way. At the same time, of course, it offers the possibility of a profound critique of the "Western way of life." Behind this, however, the deep gulf between the European and American understanding of life is made visible - an oppressive view of the "land of the free.
