The following are my efforts at classifying the myriad patterns of social, religious, psychological, and political thought, behavior, and organization of societies in our world. In broad sweeps, I see some cultures that emphasize collectivity more as differentiated from those that emphasize individualism. Likewise, I see differentiation between those emphasizing an analytical approach to social organization, highlighting the material world in the scientific and technical realms. On the other hand, those embody a more synthetic approach that emphasizes an immaterial, spiritual dimension.
