An Ongoing Investigation
It's winter in San Diego, and U.S. Customs Special Agent Jimmy Maxwell is working hard at Operation Alliance, a border narcotics task force trying to stem the flow of narcotics being smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico. During one of his investigations, an attempt is made on his life, followed by a handful of other attempts over the course of the next several months. As Jimmy fights to stay in San Diego against the wishes of management, who want him moved for his own safety and that of his co-workers, Jimmy's love interest, Margie Gray, begins showing signs of stress. She's not only worried about Jimmy's safety, but that she will likely be transferred to Washington, D.C. As tensions mount, Jimmy struggles with his choices, even as the ongoing investigation finally comes to a head. There's trouble brewing in San Diego Timothy Daniels spent a good portion of his career working as a U.S. Customs (later U.S. ICE) special agent assigned to Operation Alliance in San Diego. He was a supervisor of a group of special agents conducting border narcotics investigations.
