Dante's Inferno for the crime generation

Mike Lester's book reminded me of that time in Iponema when I nearly lost it (control of my body that is). A pure delight to read form cover to cover.Giallo all the way.

Could not put this down until it was read front to back

Mike Lester's first novel was nothing short of amazing. You are immediately drawn into this world with so many elements that are very dark and mysterious. The characters are so well written you feel that they are coming to life in front of you as he describes their innermost thoughts and feelings. From the good to the bad, you simply can't help but want to know everything about them. Simply one of the best crime stories I have ever read. Very, very impressive first effort from this writer and I look forward to reading more in the future!

A dark and intriguing experience, you just can't put it down

An incredibly insightful look into the heart of Boyd, a petty criminal, haunted by his past, looking for meaningful connections, hoping there's a way out. Mike Lester's writing style is sparse yet extremely effective at creating an emotional picture that makes you feel like you're walking the city streets in Boyd's shoes. Beautiful, colorful, daring, An Occasonal Dream embarks on new territory for the crime novel and is unbelievably Lester's first novel. I think this guy is going to be around for quite awhile.
