Now John Cartelege is a married master mariner, and is in charge of the Intercolonial ketch "Bruno", 10 years have past and it's 1870.The book explains details of sailing the two masted ketch over a thousand miles from Tasmania in Australia, across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand ports with cargo. After adventures along the way, "Bruno" returns first to Melbourne, and then back to Hobart. Don Hamer sailed as an acting Chief Officer in the merchant navy, as far as India and Canada. He also sailed on sail-training ships, and up to Chief Officer of the "Bounty" replica which sailed from New Zealand to Los Angeles, U.S.A. in 1984, for the release of "The Bounty" film. After getting engaged, he left the sea and worked ashore mainly as an Administrator in TV and Radio, and was a Radio reporter for over 8 years.
